Tuesdays 10:30-11:30 , starting January 4, 2022
By enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and stress management, Yoga for Healthy Aging fosters an extended health-span, independence in living while continuing to engage in activities that you love and that give your life meaning, and cultivates the equanimity to face challenges with balance and grace.
This class is open to everyone, even if you have limitations or have never practiced yoga before, you will benefit from Lisa’s class. Lisa will make you feel supported during this very therapeutic class.
I attended my first yoga class in 2011 as a long distance trail runner looking to regain some flexibility. Later that year, as I experienced a series of heart shattering losses and changes, I quickly discovered that yoga was not just about my physical body. My mat became my healing sanctuary—body, mind, and spirit, and the ancient wisdom imparted by my teachers carried me through the toughest three years of my life. I eventually found myself drawn to sharing the gifts I had received from Yoga. In addition to 500 hours of teacher training in vinyasa yoga, I hold certifications in Yoga for Healthy Aging, Mindful Yoga for Trauma and Stress, and Yoga of 12-step Recovery (Y12SR). I moved to Central Oregon from Lake Tahoe in 1990. I am a primary care provider at a busy community clinic in Bend, and owner of Mountain Glow Lifestyle Medicine in Sisters. My husband Danny and I enjoy hiking, backpacking, cycling, growing vegetables, skiing, making music, teaching plant-based cooking, and spending time with my five sons and their families.
