Children need chiropractic care since they have developing spines. We can often times catch syndromes like scoliosis early, before the spine stops developing at age 25, and provide correction. Children also experience trauma, beginning at birth, through learning to walk, and through sports. Children are also often passengers in cars involved in collisions
Children are very resilient and do not necessarily experience or verbalize pain the same as adults do. We often time looks for changes in behavior as signs of injury to the spine. Changes in sleep patterns, eating patterns, bathroom patterns, increased tantrums or other changes in overall behavior can indicate that the child is experiencing pain their their head or spine.
Chiropractors are also helpful in recommending overall healthy lifestyle options like supplementation, dietary recommendations etc..for children that suffer from colds and flus, attention deficit and other spectrum conditions, etc.
Not all chiropractors work with children and I do recommend that children see a doctor that is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association as these chiropractors have had additional training working with children.
I am a member of The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and am fully qualified to work with children and babies.
